Etna, or “Mungibeddu”, the Mountain of Fire, the beating heart of the Mediterranean or simply “a Muntagna” for its inhabitants.
Etna represents a gigantic terrestrial scientific natural laboratory, observed and narrated for about 2700 years, one of the most documented world records in the field of volcanoes.
Many names to try to present to the world an enchanted place, full of mysterious caves and covered by imposing expanses of lava (skiing, for its inhabitants). But also thick with woods that smell of fairy tales and magic, crossing which it seems to hear the voices that tell of ancient deeds, and ancestral melodies.
Being aware of being an integral part, albeit infinitely small, of this wonderful and wild beauty, releases my true essence and makes me proud to be part of it. Here are my origins, my roots sink into this hard and difficult yet very fertile land…
Here is my home, in this mountain that generously combines finite and infinite… a place to visit, to breathe, to live…
